talabat’s DMart operations include more than 860 dark stores and 31 distribution centers across eight markets. The Dubai Global Tech Hub is developing technology to improve network operations through demand forecasting, inventory optimization and early identification of operational issues.

Role Summary

The Software Engineer I – Backend will work with engineers, product specialists and data teams to understand business needs and develop reliable software solutions. The role focuses on building and releasing services in small, manageable stages, improving system performance and contributing to a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand customer and business requirements through continuous collaboration with product, data and engineering teams.
• Design, develop, test and release backend software solutions under the guidance of experienced engineers gulf jobs.
• Deliver software improvements in small batches while following engineering standards.
• Understand service scalability, system complexity and performance requirements.
• Contribute to improving team processes, engineering practices and software quality.
• Develop product-focused engineering skills and take greater ownership of solutions from problem identification to delivery.

Candidate Requirements & Preferred Experience

• Some practical software development experience and a good understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with .NET, Golang or C# is preferred.
• Basic understanding of distributed systems, including microservices, event-driven architecture and RESTful services.
• Exposure to software testing, particularly automated end-to-end testing.
• Basic knowledge of relational and non-relational databases and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills.
• A collaborative, curious and open-minded approach, with a willingness to learn and respond to feedback.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is preferred.
