Job Overview

A company in Doha, Qatar is looking for an experienced Accountant to join its finance team. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting and auditing experience, strong financial reporting capabilities, and the ability to work independently while supporting the wider accounting function.

This position is suited to a hands-on accounting professional who can manage day-to-day financial activities, analyze financial information, prepare accurate reports, and contribute to the effective management of accounting operations. Candidates with experience working across multiple companies and exposure to Qatar or the wider GCC market will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure financial information is recorded accurately and on time.
• Support the preparation and review of financial reports and accounting statements.
• Perform financial analysis to help management understand business performance and financial results.
• Assist with audit-related activities and provide the required accounting information and documentation.
• Work with financial data from multiple companies where required.
• Review accounting records and identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, or areas requiring attention.
• Prepare and analyze Excel-based financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Use advanced Excel functions to organize, compare, analyze, and interpret financial information.
• Support accounting team members with daily financial and reporting activities.
• Supervise or assist accounting staff when required and help maintain accurate accounting processes.
• Ensure accounting work is completed accurately while meeting required deadlines.
• Maintain a hands-on approach to accounting operations and actively participate in routine financial activities.
• Contribute to efficient financial reporting and accounting processes.
• Maintain professional standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and financial control.

Requirements & Qualifications

• ACCA Qualified or CA Part Qualified.
• 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of audit experience.
• Previous experience managing or working with accounts for multiple companies is preferred.
• Experience supervising, coordinating, or supporting an accounting team.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and other financial and analytical formulas.
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
• Practical, hands-on approach to accounting work.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a finance team.
• Previous Qatar or GCC experience is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy GCC jobs.
• Good organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting priorities and meet deadlines.
