Job Overview

ENERGY OMAN is seeking an experienced ICT Operations Lead to manage the reliable day-to-day operation of its ICT environment. The role covers SAP ERP, business applications, IT infrastructure, networks, cloud, end-user services, data, analytics and digital platforms.

The position will coordinate ICT resources and service providers, monitor service levels, manage operational risks and incidents, and support the availability, security and resilience of critical technology services.

Key Responsibilities

ICT Operations & Service Management

• To manage daily ICT operations across applications, infrastructure, networks and end-user support.
• Manage incidents, service requests, problems and changes while coordinating responses to outages and service disruptions.
• Able to monitor service performance, SLAs, recurring issues and operational risks, providing regular updates and escalating significant matters to the ICT Head.

SAP ERP & Business Applications

• Oversee SAP ERP operations, availability, performance and support across implemented business modules.
• Coordinate SAP incidents, defects, releases, patches, transports, enhancements and operational backlogs with business users and application-support partners.
• Ensure critical business processes such as payroll, procurement, reporting and period-end activities operate reliably.
• Manage business applications, integrations and interfaces with subsidiaries and external partners, ensuring proper documentation and production support.
• Monitor SAP licensing, vendor performance, support contracts and service quality.

Infrastructure, Cloud & End-User Services

• Manage daily operations covering data centers, cloud, networks, connectivity, backup, endpoints, collaboration and telephony services.
• Coordinate infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, incidents and service restoration while monitoring capacity, performance, availability and technology lifecycle requirements.
• Oversee network administration and helpdesk providers against agreed service levels.

Data, Digital Solutions & Automation

• Operate and support approved data, BI and analytics platforms, including data pipelines, dashboards, integrations and reporting services.
• Coordinate approved digital transformation, AI, automation and IoT initiatives and ensure successful transition into operational support.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual activities and enhance operational efficiency through technology and automation.

Security, Compliance & Business Continuity

• Implement approved ICT security and access-management controls and coordinate remediation of vulnerabilities, VAPT findings, audit findings and control gaps.
• Support security incident response, technical recovery and restoration activities.
• Maintain backup, recovery and disaster-recovery readiness and coordinate scheduled recovery testing.
• Ensure ICT operations comply with approved policies, controls and applicable Omani regulatory requirements, including data-protection requirements.

ICT Projects, Vendors & Budget

• Execute approved ICT projects within agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements.
• Coordinate internal teams, business functions, implementation partners and vendors, ensuring appropriate testing, documentation, training and operational handover.
• Monitor vendor performance, contracts, renewals, operational spending and ICT procurement activities.
• Support technical evaluations and escalate major commercial, budget, project and operational decisions to the ICT Head.

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead ICT operations resources and outsourced service providers, assign work and monitor performance against agreed objectives and service levels.
• Identify skills gaps and support training, knowledge transfer and development of Omani ICT capabilities.
• Able to coordinate day-to-day ICT requirements with business stakeholders and communicate service status, impacts, risks and recovery plans.
• To drive continuous improvement in service reliability, support efficiency, automation, cost and operational risk.

Shared Services & Subsidiaries

• Operate approved ICT shared services for subsidiaries and joint ventures while maintaining agreed services, SLAs, access controls and operational separation of systems and data.
• Coordinate incidents, service requests and escalations and report significant service issues to the ICT Head.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Have bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant certification such as SAP, ITIL, PMP or equivalent is an advantage.
• Having 8–10 years of ICT experience, including 3–5 years leading a team or ICT function.
• Experience in the energy sector or another asset-intensive industry is preferred.
• Have strong knowledge of SAP ERP in a live production environment, including implementation, major upgrade or S/4HANA migration and ongoing support.
• Experience managing outsourced service providers, application-management contracts and vendor SLAs.
• Broad experience across IT infrastructure, networks, cloud, cybersecurity operations, BI and analytics, AI, automation and digital transformation.
• Able to proven track record delivering ICT and digital projects within agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
• Experience integrating systems across business units and subsidiaries.
• Experience managing an ICT budget and supporting IT general controls and internal/external audits.
• Have good understanding of Omani ICT regulatory requirements, including data protection and their operational implications
