Job Overview

Commercial Bank of Qatar is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to design, develop and deploy modern Agentic AI solutions and AI-enabled platforms within its Data & AI Lab.

The role focuses on building reliable AI engineering infrastructure, including cloud integrations, vector databases, document-processing pipelines, real-time data streaming and AI service integrations AI Jobs in Qatar . The successful candidate will work closely with AI Product Owners, Data Scientists and engineering teams to deliver scalable and production-ready AI solutions for banking operations and customer-facing applications.

The position connects AI development with enterprise production environments, ensuring that AI solutions are secure, maintainable, scalable and aligned with technology standards.

Key Responsibilities

Agentic AI Development

• To design and develop Agentic AI solutions, including autonomous workflows and multi-agent systems.
• Ability to build AI orchestration workflows using Model Context Protocol (MCP) and similar frameworks.
• Develop and optimize AI pipelines that combine multiple AI capabilities into integrated solutions.
• Support the development of practical AI applications for banking use cases.

AI Platform Engineering

• Develop and maintain AI platform components such as vector stores, embedding pipelines and retrieval systems.
• Build document parsing, processing and metadata extraction pipelines for knowledge-management and RAG applications.
• Develop and maintain APIs and integration layers that allow AI services to be used across banking applications.
• Support reliable and scalable AI platform operations.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Design and deploy AI solutions using Azure and GCP cloud platforms.
• Apply appropriate security, scalability and infrastructure practices to AI deployments.
• Implement Kafka-based data streaming for real-time AI applications and event-driven workflows.
• Manage AI infrastructure, including model serving through OpenShift /Kubernetes, monitoring and performance optimization.

Software Integration & Delivery

• Develop RESTful APIs and integration solutions for internal and external applications.
• Work with IT teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing banking systems and business workflows.
• Participate in Agile delivery activities, including Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, code reviews and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to reliable production deployment and ongoing technical improvements.

Quality, Security & Governance

• Make ensure AI solutions follow applicable banking security, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain code quality through testing, documentation and CI/CD practices.
• Follow established software engineering and development standards.
• Monitor developments in AI technologies, tools and frameworks and apply relevant improvements to AI delivery.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of LLMs, embedding models and Generative AI architectures.
• Experience with AI orchestration, agent development and multi-step AI workflows.
• Familiarity with vector databases such as Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate or Milvus.
• Understanding of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns.
• Knowledge of deep-learning frameworks including TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Experience with model deployment tools such as MLflow or TFX.
• Advanced Python skills with AI/ML libraries such as LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar tools.
• Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Advanced SQL knowledge, including stored procedures, window functions, temporary tables and recursive queries.
• Experience with Git, GitHub or GitLab for source control.
• Experience with Azure or GCP and cloud object storage such as S3, GCS or ABS.
• Knowledge of Kafka and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Apache NiFi.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Familiarity with Spark and MLOps practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• To bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• 4–6 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years focused on AI/ML applications.
• Having hands-on experience with Azure or GCP and container technologies such as Docker and OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Experience with document processing, metadata extraction and knowledge-management systems is preferred.
• Experience in the banking or financial services sector is an advantage.
• To relevant certifications such as Azure AI Engineer or GCP ML Engineer are preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Product Owners and other technical teams.
• Have ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments.
