Job Overview

Al-Futtaim Automotive is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to provide advanced diagnostic assistance and technical guidance to automotive service teams in Abu Dhabi.

The role focuses on resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues, particularly involving electric and hybrid vehicle technologies. The successful candidate will support repair quality, improve technician performance, and ensure timely resolution of technical cases across service operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate complex automotive electrical, electronic, and technical faults and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
• Verify reported vehicle concerns and provide accurate diagnostic guidance to service teams.
• Deliver remote technical assistance and conduct on-site visits when practical support is required.
• Monitor technical cases through to resolution and escalate critical or unresolved issues to relevant management teams.
• Prepare detailed technical assessments, quality reports, and case documentation.
• Analyze defective vehicle components and coordinate their submission for further technical investigation.
• Coach and guide technicians to improve diagnostic accuracy, repair standards, and first-time repair performance gulf jobs.
• Ensure service locations have access to updated technical manuals, service bulletins, software update equipment, and specialized tools.
• Support the implementation of modern automotive diagnostic procedures and repair technologies.
• Work with technical managers, workshop teams, and other stakeholders to strengthen service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Apply updated technical knowledge to address challenges involving modern vehicles, electric vehicles, and hybrid systems.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Computer-related Engineering is also listed among the educational qualifications.
• Minimum 6 years of automotive service and repair experience, including at least 3 years as a Master Technician within a dealership or equivalent service environment.
• Strong understanding of automotive electrical and electronic systems.
• Advanced diagnostic, fault-finding, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of onboard diagnostics, modern vehicle technologies, and automotive repair methods jobs in UAE .
• Practical experience with electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid powertrain systems.
• Ability to use modern diagnostic equipment and interpret technical information.
• Strong technical reporting, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication, leadership, team-building, and technician coaching abilities.
• Customer-oriented approach with a strong commitment to repair quality and service standards.

Preferred Certifications

• IMI Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Level 3 or Level 4 certification is an advantage.
• Specialized training in electric vehicle technology may be considered.
• Relevant automotive technical training and certifications are beneficial.

About the Team

The successful candidate will join Al-Futtaim’s aftersales technical support team, working alongside technical managers, service centers, and workshop technicians. The team focuses on diagnostic excellence, effective technical problem-solving, high repair standards, and customer satisfaction.
