TechTree is recruiting an experienced Staff / Principal Engineer – AI-Native Engineering on behalf of a leading global insurance organization based in Doha, Qatar.

The position focuses on transforming enterprise software engineering through artificial intelligence, modern solution architecture, and AI-assisted development practices. The successful candidate will help integrate AI-native engineering across the software delivery lifecycle, including system design, development, testing, deployment, and operations.

This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity combining advanced engineering expertise, architectural decision-making, and team mentorship. The role requires an experienced professional who can influence engineering standards, guide complex technical initiatives, and improve delivery performance without relying on formal line-management authority.

At Principal Engineer level, the position also includes responsibility for defining the technical direction of a major business domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and technical design for complex, business-critical enterprise applications.
• Introduce and integrate AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices into existing software development teams.
• Apply artificial intelligence to legacy system analysis, automated testing, development workflows, and engineering productivity improvements.
• Support the organization’s transition towards AI-native software engineering across design, development, testing, deployment, and operational activities.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to engineering teams, helping them adopt modern tools, methodologies, and development standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with product objectives, customer journeys, and measurable business outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve software quality, delivery efficiency, system reliability, and engineering practices.
• Mentor engineers through practical coaching, technical collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
• Influence architectural decisions and engineering standards across multiple delivery teams without requiring direct management authority.
• At Principal Engineer level, establish and guide the long-term technical direction of a major business domain.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Extensive hands-on experience in software engineering, enterprise application development, and solution architecture.
• Strong technical background in designing and delivering complex, large-scale, business-critical software systems.
• Demonstrated practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, agentic AI, or AI-driven software engineering workflows  .
• Ability to apply AI technologies to real engineering challenges rather than relying solely on theoretical knowledge.
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices, system architecture, testing methodologies, and engineering delivery processes.
• Product-focused engineering mindset with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer experience and business objectives.
• Proven ability to mentor software engineers, improve technical capabilities, and influence engineering teams.
• Excellent architectural problem-solving, technical decision-making, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to operate independently, take ownership of complex technical initiatives, and contribute effectively across multiple teams.
• Strong interest in advancing AI-native engineering practices within a large enterprise environment.

Preferred Industry Experience

Previous experience in insurance, banking, financial services, payments, or large-scale digital product organizations will be an advantage jobs in Qatar  .

Direct insurance industry experience is not mandatory.

Recruitment & Interview Process

The recruitment process consists of approximately 3–5 stages, including a live, case-based solution architecture discussion.

No live coding assessment is required.
