Job Description

BSL Qatar is seeking an experienced Typhoon Electronic Warfare (EW) Mission Data Specialist to support Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) EW Officers in developing and maintaining the Typhoon EW Mission Data (MD) capability.

The specialist will provide technical advice and hands-on support throughout the MD lifecycle, covering requirements, design, development, testing, and post-flight analysis.

The role requires expertise in EW toolsets, including IGS and DVT, for generating Defensive Aids Sub System (DASS) and Attack Computer mission data. The successful candidate will join a specialist team in Qatar following an initial period of UK-based training.

Key Aspects

• Advise on Typhoon EW mission data requirements, specifications, and development processes.
• Provide specialist support using IGS, DVT, OMDET, and PFA toolsets.
• Guide QEAF EW Officers in addressing operational mission data challenges.
• Support EW MD design, development, and testing, including Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) testing.
• Deliver practical training and technical guidance to strengthen QEAF EW capabilities.
• Assess QEAF operational needs and assist in developing EW mission data requirements and design specifications.

• Support the development and testing of ESCM, DAC, and AC mission data.
• Assist with emitter ESM data extraction and colorization activities.
• Support QEAF-led HWIL rig testing at Warton, UK.
• Conduct post-flight analysis support to identify and implement necessary mission data changes.
• Coordinate with frontline Typhoon users to integrate EW MD activities into operational requirements.
• Provide daily technical assistance, supervision where appropriate, and issue escalation within the QEAF Typhoon EW Centre.
• Mentor QEAF EW Officers in mission data tools, procedures, and operational practices.
• Assist the EW Advisor with specialist technical queries and support QEAF trials, exercises, and deployed operations.

Key Accountabilities

• Support agreed EW mission data delivery targets and promptly report or escalate operational issues.
• Ensure all design, development, testing, and analysis activities follow approved procedures, with accurate documentation and records.
• Maintain and improve standards governing Typhoon mission data production, testing, and delivery.
• Recommend procedural improvements that strengthen operational effectiveness.
• Support the EW Advisor in introducing or upgrading EW toolsets within the QEAF organization.
• Maintain awareness of applicable contractual requirements and incorporate relevant changes into assigned activities Jobs in Qatar.
• Deputize for the EW Advisor in designated areas when required.

Requirements

Candidates must be qualified EW specialists with substantial operational electronic warfare experience gained through one of the following pathways:

• Graduation from a recognized advanced EW warfare course within the UK military environment; or
• At least 4 years of EW or ELINT tours with the UK Armed Forces, UK MSC, or an industry role involving mission data creation and lifecycle management.

Additionally, candidates must have at least 2 years of experience with Typhoon EW systems.

• Detailed knowledge of EW mission data toolsets and their integration throughout the EW lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of Typhoon DASS, including equipment interactions, capabilities, and mission data dependencies gulf jobs.
• Effective team leadership and technical mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to build productive relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
• Cultural awareness and understanding of the operational environment in Qatar.
