Job Overview

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join its Finance team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting the Expo 2030 Riyadh infrastructure programme.

The successful candidate will provide accounting and financial support at the project site, with responsibilities covering client invoicing, accounts payable coordination, general ledger activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support Gulf jobs.

This position requires a strong understanding of project accounting processes, contractual billing requirements, and financial controls. The Project Accountant will collaborate with project management, procurement, finance, vendors, and other functional teams to maintain accurate financial records, resolve accounting issues, and support efficient project operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day financial and accounting support to maintain accurate, timely, and efficient project finance operations.
• Prepare monthly client invoices in accordance with contractual provisions, established billing procedures, and approved project schedules.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Client Billing teams to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and processed within required timelines.
• Review outstanding and on-hold accounts payable reports and work with Procurement, vendors, and AP personnel to investigate and resolve payment issues.
• Perform general ledger reviews, accounting entries, account reconciliations, and financial data checks to maintain accurate project accounting records.
• Extract, review, and analyse financial and technical information for accounting reports, financial studies, charts, and management requirements.
• Participate in monthly financial reviews and investigate discrepancies to support timely resolution and corrective action.
• Prepare financial records and supporting documentation in response to internal and external audit enquiries.
• Work closely with project management and cross-functional departments to ensure financial information is accurate, consistent, and aligned with project requirements.
• Identify accounting issues, support their resolution, and contribute to improvements in financial procedures and internal processes.
• Maintain an appropriate understanding of prime contract provisions to ensure client invoicing and associated accounting activities comply with contractual requirements.
• Assist project management with financial reporting, accounting analysis, and other project finance requirements when needed jobs in Saudi Arabia .

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Candidates should meet one of the following education and professional experience combinations:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline, or an international equivalent, together with 8–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Alternatively, candidates may qualify with 12–14 years of relevant professional experience demonstrating the required accounting and financial expertise.

Applicants should have practical experience in project accounting, client billing, financial reporting, accounts payable coordination, and general ledger activities within a structured project or corporate environment.

Strong knowledge of client invoicing procedures is required, including the ability to prepare invoices accurately and ensure alignment with contractual payment provisions. Candidates should also have practical experience with accounting entries, account analysis, reconciliations, and the review of financial information.

The position requires the ability to coordinate accounts payable matters, investigate outstanding transactions, and work effectively with procurement teams, vendors, and finance personnel to resolve payment-related issues.

Candidates should understand project accounting practices and have experience working with Bechtel’s Oracle systems. The ability to interpret financial information, identify discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and contribute to reliable project reporting is important.

Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills are required because the role involves regular interaction with project management and multiple functional departments.
