Maaden is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist – Database & Data Mart to strengthen its enterprise data infrastructure and support advanced analytics, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The successful candidate will design, develop, optimize, and maintain scalable database and data mart solutions that provide reliable access to high-quality enterprise information. This position requires strong expertise in database architecture, data engineering, performance optimization, and governance to ensure data platforms remain secure, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.

The role also involves translating complex business requirements into effective data models, improving integration processes, supporting operational reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance Maaden’s Data & AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities as Senior Specialist

• Design and deliver scalable, high-performance database and data mart solutions supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
• Translate business and analytical requirements into logical and physical data models aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Develop reusable database design patterns that improve consistency, maintainability, and long-term scalability.
• Support reliable enterprise data integration through effective ETL/ELT processes, transformation logic, and orchestration practices.
• Ensure database and data mart solutions are properly developed, tested, deployed, and transitioned into production environments.
• Conduct technical reviews and maintain compliance with established architecture, engineering, and solution delivery standards.
• Optimize database performance through SQL tuning, indexing, workload analysis, and capacity management.
• Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement preventive measures to improve system reliability.
• Support database recovery planning, operational resilience, availability, and scalability as business data requirements expand.
• Incorporate data governance principles, including quality controls, lineage, metadata, ownership, and retention requirements.
• Maintain secure and auditable enterprise data assets in accordance with corporate policies, privacy standards, and applicable regulations.
• Identify and address data quality issues, security control gaps, and operational risks.
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, governance, and business teams to deliver prioritized data solutions.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
• A master’s degree in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Analytics, or a relevant field is considered an advantage.
• 7–10 years of progressive professional experience in database development, data engineering, data warehousing, business intelligence, or related technical disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale databases, data marts, dimensional models, and data warehouse solutions.
• Strong technical knowledge of database architecture, administration, logical and physical data modeling, and enterprise data structures.
• Practical expertise in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration workflows, and orchestration processes.
• Advanced SQL knowledge, including query performance tuning, indexing strategies, workload optimization, and database troubleshooting.
• Experience managing high-volume database environments and resolving complex production incidents and performance-related issues.
• Understanding of cloud data platforms, modern database technologies, automation, and data engineering best practices.
• Strong knowledge of data quality management, metadata, data lineage, governance controls, ownership, and retention requirements.
• Familiarity with data security, privacy, regulatory compliance, and audit-related controls within enterprise technology environments.
• Experience with database performance monitoring, capacity planning, operational reliability, and recovery procedures.
• Understanding of release management, environment management, technical assurance, and structured solution delivery.
• Proven ability to lead technical activities involving multiple stakeholders, engineering teams, and business functions.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and experience conducting root-cause analysis to resolve technical challenges.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical recommendations and implementation considerations clearly.
