Commercial Bank of Qatar is seeking a skilled and analytical Assistant Credit Manager to support retail credit risk management, portfolio monitoring, and data-driven decision-making at its CB Plaza location in Doha.

The successful candidate will analyze retail lending portfolio performance, identify emerging credit risks, and translate financial data into practical strategies that support sustainable portfolio growth while maintaining asset quality .

This role involves monitoring risk appetite indicators, evaluating delinquency trends, profitability, and expected credit losses, and working closely with business and risk teams to strengthen customer acquisition, credit limit management, and collections strategies.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of retail banking products, credit risk principles, portfolio analytics, and management reporting, supported by relevant experience in retail credit functions jobs in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor retail credit portfolio performance to identify emerging risks, changes in asset quality, and opportunities for sustainable portfolio growth.
• Analyze retail lending products, including personal loans, credit cards, auto loans, and mortgages, in line with established credit policies and underwriting standards.
• Develop, monitor, and evaluate risk appetite indicators and portfolio quality metrics to support effective credit risk management.
• Track key portfolio indicators, including Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratios, Portfolio at Risk (PAR 30/60/90+), flow rates, and write-off trends.
• Conduct statistical analysis, forecasting, cohort/vintage analysis, roll-rate analysis, and customer behavior assessments to identify portfolio trends.
• Develop early warning indicators and perform stress testing, scenario analysis, and root-cause investigations into portfolio deterioration.
• Evaluate portfolio segmentation, delinquency, profitability, and expected losses to support informed management decisions.
• Collaborate with business, collections, finance, risk management, and IT/data teams to improve acquisition, credit limit, and collections strategies.
• Prepare accurate management information reports (MIS), dashboards, executive presentations, and KPI performance summaries.
• Support regulatory reporting requirements and communicate relevant credit risk findings to internal stakeholders, auditors, and regulators.
• Apply advanced Excel capabilities, including Pivot Tables and Power Query, to improve portfolio analysis and reporting efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen existing systems, automate reporting activities, streamline processes, reduce operational costs, and improve productivity.
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies, credit procedures, standard operating guidelines, and applicable internal controls banking jobs.
• Assist in preparing timely and accurate departmental reports and statements in accordance with Commercial Bank’s reporting standards.
• Follow relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures while maintaining consistent operational standards GULF JOBS.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Business or an equivalent academic qualification.
• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in retail credit functions, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of credit risk management principles, retail lending products, credit policies, and underwriting standards.
• Practical knowledge of retail credit portfolio monitoring, performance evaluation, and asset quality management.
• Ability to analyze credit portfolio indicators, including NPL ratios, PAR 30/60/90+, flow rates, write-off rates, delinquency, profitability, and expected losses.
• Experience with statistical analysis, trend forecasting, cohort/vintage analysis, roll-rate analysis, portfolio segmentation, and customer behavior assessments.
• Understanding of early warning indicator development, stress testing, scenario analysis, and root-cause analysis of credit portfolio deterioration.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Power Query; VBA knowledge is desirable.
